Mmmmm, sushi...

This was taken on my first trip to Japan. I've been looking through my old pics and find that it was 3 years ago nearly to the day. A month after those planes crashed into the towers...You know, the ones where the FBI ID'd one of those hijackers because flames that melted steel somehow left his passport unscathed (Guardian link btw) to flutter down and land amidst the carnage ready to be collected. Go back to bed America, your Government is in control...

Anyway, sliiightly Off-topic, I had a really great camera at the time. An Olympus c4040z. A 4.1 megapixel camera in 2001!

3 days later some enterprising little bastard in Sengawa, (Western inner suburbs of Tokyo; in Chofu, just past Medaimae on the Keio line) spied me flashing it around and pickpocketed it out of my rucksack. NOT a good first impression of peaceful Japan. Her whose shimmering beacon of light from the heavens, the beauty of which would put Aphrodite to shame was most surprised with my warcry of "THE CRACKSMOKING MOTHERFUCKER, I'LL GUT HIM LIKE A FUCKING FISH" as I slammed my (now empty) rucksack down onto the table in Mosburger infront of mothers with children and ran out, seeking vengeance and screaming blue murder onto the packed street searching with a vengeance the thronging crowds for any bad-looking wise-ass who'd dare steal from my back. I was the only gaijin and her, frantically working out what was wrong whilst simultaneously trying to calm me down and bring me to the realisation that the camera was G-O-N-E F-O-R-E-V-E-R (but "....We'll report it to the police anyway and you never know") infront of one side of a very busy street; highly embarrased.....

I cursed the foul creature for a few weeks (it wasn't so much the camera, as more the pictures on the memory card) but learned to live with it...Especially when several months later I ballsed up enough to claim for it on my house insurance...plus a new rucksack...and coat....and a few extra memory cards....and a couple of hundred more than I paid for it!!.......;) The cheque'll be in the post soon sir!! Kerching ching!!

One love Tokyo and Japan, I've been back a few times since, and I'll never hold it against you.....Oooer!!

very nice, you need to post more. As for the links, I am having problems with my server right now so they are down for them moment. Two of the three can be found on short stories east of the web, the otherone, I have no clue where it came from, but it works for the project.
